| Crocheted Girls Play Dress |
I'm not sure why I never seem to completely finish any crochet projects. I love to start them, work diligently until 75-90% completion, and then stop and start something else. I recently started this little dress as a gift for my niece. The pattern is from a August 2002 issue of Crochet World that I picked up for $0.50 at a thrift store over the summer. I tried to find it online to share it, but was unable to. The pattern was easy to follow. I did change it just a bit. I used a larger hook and different yarn colors because that is what I had. I also added a button to the center of the "flower button".

Overall the dress was easy to make and worked up in four days. I'm about 98% done with the dress. I'm hoping that writing about it will give me the motivation to finish the second strap. I have crocheted the strap, but need to make another flower button and sew it together. I would like to make a matching hat and maybe sock trims. Crochet World included a pattern for a beret that matches the dress, but I don't like it. I think that the butterfly hat that was suppose to be my next project will look cute with this dress. I haven't started looking for a pattern for sock edgings. I'll have to get searching!

Finish your crafts!! Showed this to Kaitlyn and she yelled "Please Auntie Co"!!
Love the button and the colors. Great work, Gypsies.
Thank you! The colors are bright for a fall/winter dress. It will be fun during the crappy winters my family experiences in Wisconsin. I started a matching doll dress a couple of nights ago. It should be cute. My niece is getting into dolls.
